On Jul. 7, 2014, The New Yorker┬ámagazine’s James Surowiecki wrote “Moaning Moguls” about the Committee for Economic Development (CED) which after WWII pushed for strong unions and big government programs so most people would benefit from capitalism. Reasonable and generous reforms would also blunt more radical reforms if people thought the rich were just getting richer at their expense.
