On Thursday July 22, 2010 in San Francisco at Ft. Mason, The Long Now Museum and the SFMOMA Artists Gallery’s presented the “Wondrous Strange: A 21st Century Cabinet of Curiosities.” The arts and sciences came together with the past and future for a fun evening by the bay. The Long Now Clock engineers explained their new prototypes and the Long Now wine by the Pelissero Winery in Italy was served. The Grannies performed and Golden Mean or the Snail Car was on display. I’ve nicknamed this the Time Traveler’s Ball because the prizes were awarded for the best time traveler gear (serious steampunk). If you want the last word, the Long Now is the way to get it.
