On Monday, November 17, 2007 the Silicon Valley Engineering Council (SVEC) held its Annual Open House at Semiconductor Equipment and Materials International (SEMI) in San Jose.

Peter Borden of Applied Materials talked about breakthroughs on cheaper solar panels. Elise Engelhardt, President of SVEC presented awards to Dan Oprica and Jack Jew presented the Keeper Of The Flame award encouraging students to study math and science to Jimmy Ikeda.

Bernard Widrow announced the Hall of Fame Inductees to be honored at February 2009 SVEC Banquet. They are Steve Kang, Jim Omura and Robert Perry.

Joe Louis said a few words about the late Hall of Famer Jay Pinson.
