Hard Lessons From Searchlight To Washington

By Senator Harry Reid With Mark Warren Text from DJCline.com.

Harry Reid was born in a miners shack in the near ghost town of Searchlight Nevada at the beginning of WWII. His parents were illiterate alcoholics and his father eventually shot himself. He hitched rides across forty miles of desert to go to high school. He eloped with a nice Jewish girl, joined the Mormons and had four kids. He was a boxer, a cop, a defense lawyer, lieutenant governor, gaming commissioner and US Senator. The mob tried to kill him and his family and he averted a takeover of the Senate by the Bush Administration. This is quite a life to fit into such a thin book.

It’s nice to know that America still has ordinary people who can rise to power. Recommended.
