Pushing Daisies

A truly delightful television show from the creators of Dead Like Me and Wonderfalls. Like those other shows, it is obsessed with bizarre ways to die. In this series the hero can bring people back to life for one minute by touching them.He then must touch them again before the minute is up before somebody nearby dies to take their place.

The narration is delivered in the style of Lemony Snicket. The dialogue is worthy of David Mamet. The cast nails their respective roles. The set design is spectacular. The stories are dark and funny in a particularly Canadian fashion.

There is an entire subtext about the hero’s girlfriend named Chuck whom he cannot touch. I’ll save that essay for another time.

Highly recommended.
