Crater Lake
This is a panorama of Oregon’s Crater Lake looking east from the west rim. It was taken with the Canon PowerShot G1, a three megapixel camera and substantial upgrade from the first Sony Mavica. The panorama feature was built in. Yes, it really was that blue. For some reason I am reminded of Roger Dean’s artwork for the Yes Fragile album.

Writing In Sand
I was in the lobby of a Silicon Valley company last week where they displayed a gleaming cylinder of silicon they cut into wafers for chips.
